Introduction
Liver Diseases are common and the incidence of Liver Disease is increasing. Early diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases help to reduce progression and impact on patients. Our practice’s main expertise is in the early diagnosis and treatment as well as screening and prevention of complications of Liver Disease.
Services
Our practice has expertise in diagnosis, detected, early management and follow up of Liver Disease, including cirrhosis. Services that we provide to help include:
- Diagnosis of Liver Diseases
- Management of autoimmune liver diseases
- Management and surveillance of Hepatitis B
- Follow up and screening for complications of patients with cirrhosis
- Early varicael treatment and gastroscopy surveillance
For Hepatitis C and Liver Cancer, cases will be referred to the Royal Hobart Hospital and their multidisciplinary team for management.
As acute admissions due to liver disease complications such as bleeding, ascites or encephalopathy requires complex multi-disciplinary team care, these admissions will be directed to the RHH.
